Apple M2 Pro and Max Good News

The much expected Apple M2 Pro and Max Good News seems to be positive, there are reports that apple suppliers are ready to ship the new MacBook Pro’s 14 and 16 inches. According to reports and news floating on the internet and blogs could see that there will be one more apple October 2022 event. So we can expect new updated MacBook pro’s.

According to Bloomberg Mark Gurman, the production of these two MacBooks is well underway, meaning that there is a chance Apple might be able to release them shortly. He is one of the most import and reliable person who provides exact information on the new releases.

The Mac books are in testing phase and now ready for shipping. The debate is the use of 3nm or the current 5nm processor. M2 processors looks to have improved graphics performance cores and slight increase in the CPU cores. The current M1 Pro and M1 Max are performing so good with the unified memory architecture which is a great improvement in the apple silicon.

Macrumors reports there could be a Mac mini also along with the MacBook pro’s with another M2 variant called M2 Extreme. Not confirmed about the new one which can provide more performance.

Compared M2 Pro and Max

CPU Cores

The M1 Pro and M1 Max has more improvement than the M2, including a 10-core CPU and up to 16 and 32 GPU cores, respectively. The M1 Ultra, the biggest of all, boasts a 20-core CPU with up to 64 GPU cores. The M2 Pro and M2 Max may include 12-core CPU and up to 32 and 64 GPU cores. . The M2 Ultra will have the biggest with 24-core Cpu wit up to 128 GPU cores.

RAM

The RAM Support may be around 256 GB for the Apple M2 Pro and  Max. The Ram support may be extended to 512 GB for the M2 Ultra.

Display

The display support for M2 Pro and M2 Max could be around 6K over the HDMI as like the M1 Pro and M1 Max which supports 4k over the HDMI display port. There are chances of 6k Support for external monitors which will provide higher resolution.

Dimensions

The MacBook pros of 2022 will be of the same size and there is no changes expected as the upgrade was done last year. It includes all those extra features and ports required. It has also fixed the issue of the display issues with the old models. There should be no changes to the ports included. Still there are a lot of devices that can solve the missing ports like the Goobay USB docks.

Keyboard

The keyboards upgrade happened in the last model as they switched from butterfly keyboard to the latest or the old model scissors switch keyboard that was used long time. This seems to have solved the issues with the keyboard and it looks good in the new models. So the performance and touch feel is looking good and the key bounce rate has improved. So happy for the users who use more of the keyboard.

Apple moving away from Intel

Looks the architecture space is so clear to move away from Intel processors. Mac’s was able to deliver vast performance with Intel based processors, so there was a huge demand in the olden days. Now with the new own chips SOC, the marked for Processors and hardware for apple has improved a lot. Looks to play a major industry leader in these. The decision to move away from Intel looks to be wise. Still there are some issues with that as the apps compatibility is still missing for quite a lot. So the application development costs has gone up.

Application Compatibility Apple M2 Pro and Max

Apps that are the main thing on the platform as there are 2 processors. Now the apps needs to be done in a way such that it can run on both the hardware. This is causing a increased burden of development for other vendors. Apple wins this race as they have a unified platform across all their flagships like Ipad, MAC, Macbooks, Iphones, and Apple Tv etc. So that they can do seamless integration. So that the customer satisfaction is improved.

There are certain limitation for this as all users may not be having all the apple devices. Because will be always mix and match. So this needs to be taken care in the integrations and functions that be allowed to run on other hardware and operating systems. Apple seems to push customers to adopt to their product in some way.

Security

The security feature has been enhanced in the new Mac models as everything is patented by Apple. So easy to customize and  improve the features when required. Now it so simple with some software upgrades the hardware is working fast forward. They do have all the options available and they enable it when required. This is one of the awesome feature, so that users need not look into getting the hardware upgraded to get a new feature.

Self Repair

The new self repair feature introduced by Apple looks good but there are certain drawbacks in this. The end user may not be well equipped and sometimes the in-experience will lead to serious damages. The security chips on macbooks and others sometimes make the device unusable. So this kind of self repair is suitable for people who are more confident in what they do and ok to move one if any issues. I really like this idea but because of the issues that can occur due to user fault might damage the product. The positive note on this is that we can get the genuine apple parts ourselves with out going to the authorised store. As far I could this this a way long to go.

Chip Demands M2 Pro and Max

The growth and demand for the chips for the M2 line up’s looks to be more and the TSMC manufacturers are not able to meet the demands. So that the cost of the chips will go up in the marked which in turn hits the end users. The rumors are there for 3nm processors for M2 Max lines up but not sure until the event happens. If it is 3nm then it will be great news for those who are still waiting for this to come out in the market. So 3nm processors looks to be in the radar but not sure it can be still be the same 5nm.

Worth Waiting for M2 pro and Max

The performance of the M1 pro lines have proven things that they do perform very well. The have set some good benchmarks in all the areas like video editing, graphics and power processing. So the expectation for the M2 Pro lines is huge now. The M1 lines up are the first in the kind of apple silicon and it make the others like Intel and AMD to have a look into their line ups. This has proved apple is successful in this trend.

Finally if the rumors are true for the Apple M2 pro and M2 Max good news. Then it will be good to see a powerful Macbook pro with M2 Pro and M2 Max processors in its heart. The CPU and GPU performance might increase to the new level. I am eagerly waiting for this launch. From my perspective there is worth in waiting for M2 Pro and M2 Max and M2 Ultra. I will be more than happy if it is 3nm.
